The Fotokite is a tethered flying camera for journalists to easily access aerial perspectives to tell their stories better, without the complications and disruption of traditional drones.
The tether solves fundamental interaction and safety problems: more an intelligent kite than a drone, the Fotokite fundamentally changes the interaction between the journalist and the people around, thanks to the clear link of responsibility the tether provides. The tether also provides novel interaction (5 min training) and provides power for sustained flight. Finally, the Fotokite addresses fundamental safety issues (e.g. no reliance on GPS), enabling safe operation in proximity to ongoing events.
